Grocery giants Kroger and Albertsons – the respective parent companies of King Soopers and Safeway – are reportedly in the midst of negotiating an almost $2 billion deal with C&S Wholesale Grocers and SoftBank Group Corp. to sell hundreds of their stores.The potential acquisition could impact more than 400 locations, including an unidentified number in “mountain states,” Reuters reported. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order on Wednesday to study the development, use, and risks of artificial intelligence technology statewide and within the government while educating the public on the new technology.Under the executive order, state agencies and departments will be required to analyze any potential threats generative artificial intelligence, or GenAI, could cause to California’s critical energy infrastructure. Pickup Versus ATV Collision Near Elm Lane Kills 22-Year-Old Antioch ManOAKLEY, CA (September 7, 2023) – Tuesday morning, an ATV crash on Neroly Road in Oakley left a man from Antioch with fatal injuries.The deadly collision happened shortly before 7:00 a.m. at the 5200 block of Neroly Road, near Elm Lane.Based on the initial investigation, a four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle lost control while going southbound on Neroly.Subsequently, the ATV’s wheels entered a locked-wheel skid and veered into the northbound lanes.
